Community News – 24 february 2025

During the past weeks we have settled into the rhythm of the school year. Cycle 3 students are planning their day in their planners and are having lessons in small groups. PAT testing was a feature last week and so was playing cricket during PE.

Some of our Maker Space students in Cycles 4 and 5 have been sharing their knowledge in Remote Control Club. Our Café students ran a potluck event and prepared a range of different dishes ready for our café opening later in the term. The chickens are happily scratching through leaf litter collected by our Urban Farm team and our students taking part in our new Sewing occupation are developing their skills by making aprons.

Teachers have just finished their bike education training so they are ready to take students riding out of school. Meanwhile, our Cycle 6 students have been working on their extended essays, attending their first sessions at TAFE and building their notes ready for their assessment.

We had our first whole campus Community Meeting and heard from representatives from all the Cycles about what has been happening and what life is like in their cycle. As staff, we have also been busy with many excursions and exciting activities planned. Cycle 3 is preparing for Camp in Week 6 from Tuesday, 4 March to Thursday, 6 March. Junior production interviews and moving the Library across the asphalt from the HUB have also been a focus.
