Welcome back to Term 3!
We hope you enjoyed the break, whether you travelled or simply spent time with family and friends.
It’s wonderful to see everyone return, ready for the new term. Last term ended with a fun Pyjama Day, community pizza lunch and games.
Our students at the Caulfield Campus are thrilled about our new name, Melbourne Montessori College. They’ve embraced the new logos and designs and there’s a positive buzz around our campus. Please continue to build new relationships with other families within our MMC community.
A special thanks to our parent volunteers who have been organising library books in the absence of our librarian, Hala. We hope to see her back soon and wish her all the best.
We’re excited for our upcoming events: Grandparents Day (Thursday, 22 August), Children’s Book Week Parade (Friday, 23 August), and Fathers and Special Friends Day (Friday, 30 August). Please check the college calendar for details, and we hope to see you at these events.
This term we will be having our SSG (Student Support Group) and PTI (Parent Teacher Interviews). The booking sessions will be available from the parents’ portal in the upcoming weeks. If you have signed up for SSG, it will not be necessary to sign for a PTI.
During our Professional Development Day, staff have been inspired by Daniel to learn about flower arranging. This Montessori task brings joy to students and staff alike. We continue to recognise joy, because ‘Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are’. This is the atmosphere we encourage at MMC.
Our enduring purpose at MMC remains: ‘To offer an outstanding learning experience grounded in Montessori principles, teaching excellence, and a commitment to the wellbeing of our students and community’.
Let’s continue to grow and strengthen our MMC community together.
Thank you for your ongoing support.

With such a busy Term 2, we are fast approaching the end of Semester 1. We have celebrated Mother’s and Special Friend’s Day and thank everyone who joined us at Caulfield Campus to celebrate the morning with your special child or children. We hope you enjoyed your time in the classroom, tried the various activities, and had the chance to connect with other families while enjoying morning tea. If you missed receiving our small token of appreciation, please stop by the Reception desk.
All Melbourne Montessori staff and students united at the Caulfield Campus to commemorate Melbourne Montessori’s 50th Founders Day. It was rewarding to see the Brighton staff and students collaborating with younger students at the Caulfield Campus. Daniel and the Senior School students led the celebration and we were all mesmerised by the smoking ceremony, the stories, the staff appreciation and the heart-felt song sang by a some of our Cycle 3 students. The younger students relished their bus trips to the Brighton campus where they took part in some exciting activities and enjoyed some delectable treats.
It was inspiring to see many Cycle 2 students and families attend the Senior School immersion night, where they explored and learned how to continue their child’s Montessori learning journey to Cycle 6. We were thankful to the senior students, parents and guardians, teachers and alumni students who shared their insights of their Senior School experiences.
To end Term 2, our Caulfield students are looking forward to their community pizza day, where we will eat and gather in our outdoor space.
Let us continue to foster connections and support each other at Melbourne Montessori. We look forward to seeing many of you at the 50th Gala Dinner.
Welcome too, to our new families and students. Please reach out if you have further questions or need assistance.

We’ve had a busy start to Term 2 after an equally busy Term 1. Our heartfelt thanks to the Parents’ Association and Parents’ Representatives for their contributions to events at our Caulfield campus last term. We united as a community on Harmony Day as our students proudly represented their diverse cultural heritages. We are committed to celebrating the rich tapestry of cultures that thrive within our school community. Each year, Daniel presents a lesson to our third-year students of Cycle 2 on how to raise and lower our national flags with respect and honour, and the students take on these responsibilities with enthusiasm!
A special thank you to our Caulfield students who warmly welcomed new students during Caulfield Open Day. Your participation and support are greatly appreciated.
Athletics Day was a resounding success, with students from Cycle 2 to Cycle 6 taking part in a school-wide event. We are grateful to all the Year 12 students who cooked hundreds of sausages for their fellow MMS students who thoroughly enjoyed their BBQ snack.
Once again, we express gratitude to the Parents’ Association which generously funded outdoor picnic mats for all classrooms at the Caulfield campus and assisted in ordering and distributing pizzas to all classes. All classrooms came together to enjoy pizzas and vegetables in the sunny weather.
As we implement our strategic plan, Towards 500, and draft a master plan for Melbourne Montessori College, our younger students have been actively sharing their ideas with the architecture and design team. It has been a wonderful learning collaboration between our students and the experts. Teachers and parents will be integral parts of this master plan as we enhance and upgrade our learning facilities and environment.
We encourage you to continue building connections and friendships within our community. If you need any support or have any questions, please reach out to our dedicated team.
Finally, a gentle reminder that Cycle 2 students end their days at 3:15 pm. There will be a 15-minute transition time between 3:15 and 3:30 pm for students to be picked up at the front gate.
Thank you for your support.

Our Melbourne Montessori College community is excited to celebrate our 50-year milestone. Everyone is focusing on actions and striving to demonstrate our passion, commitment and dedication to give our students life-skills and a legacy of excellence in education and life.
The first few weeks of school have been a great transition for all our students at the Caulfield Campus. It has been a smooth transition in welcoming new students and families to our wonderful community. Our highly qualified teaching staff are inspired and excited to continue building strong relationships with students and families. Each morning, we see our students walking to their classrooms with confidence, joy and independence and it brings assurance that students are feeling safe and empowered by their Montessori learning journey.
Thank you to families who were part of our morning teas, and we are grateful for the Parent Association team who organised the wonderful morning tea for families at the Caulfield Campus. The Parent Association will continue to support events for our Melbourne Montessori community, especially in reaching out to new families.
It was exciting to have families attend the Cycle meetings. Thank you for being part of an important opportunity to connect with your child’s classroom teacher and learning environment. Do not hesitate to contact your child’s classroom teacher if you have any learning concerns or questions. Daniel and I also are available to answer your questions.
Our older students from Cycle 2 Boronia took pride in leading the students’ community meeting for the campus. This is a great opportunity for students to gather together in a larger space. They communicated any concerns they might have, acknowledged birthdays and sang the national anthem with confidence.
Some reminders…
Camp Australia is available for school-age students and younger students with extended days. Registration is free and we encourage parents to register as a backup or emergency option. The school’s after-school clubs are external organisations and you can book at Reception or online.
Our Parent-Teacher Interviews are coming up this term and later in term 3. This is another opportunity to meet with your child’s classroom teachers and specialist teachers about your child’s transition and learning development. It is important that all parents and guardians are part of their child’s learning journey.
The school will shortly open the parent portal for families to book their 15-minute session.
The Parent-Teacher interviews for Caulfield Campus (Cycle 1, Cycle 2, and Specialists) will be on:
- Tuesday, 5 March, 2024 from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm, or
- Thursday, 14 March, 2024 from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
We encourage all parents to strengthen their connections with other families. However, before and after school, parents and guardians must supervise their children while on the school premises.
At the end of the day, Cycle 2 students will be directed to the front courtyard and will be supervised by a teacher between 3:15 pm and 3:30 pm. Please ensure your child will be picked up by 3.30pm at the latest. Thank you for your co-operation.
